There’s no need to break the bank when visit ing Barcelona – in fact, there are plenty of things to see and do that are free! Here are some of our favourites:
Start your day by visiting the awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been under construction since 1882, and is still not finished – but that only adds to its charm. Admission is free on Sundays between 9am and 2pm.
Afterwards, take a stroll down Barcelona’s world-famous beach promenade, the Passeig de Gràcia. This elegant avenue is home to some of the city’s most prestigious shops and restaurants.
If you’re feeling hungry, stop by one of Barcelona’s many open-air market s. Our favourites are La Boqueria and Mercat de Santa Caterina, both of which offer a wide variety of fresh produce, meat, seafood and baked goods.
For a dose of culture, visit one of Barcelona’s many museum s. The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and the Museu Picasso are both excellent choices, and both offer free admission on Sundays.
Barcelona is a beautiful city with something for everyone. So why not take advantage of its many free attractions and enjoy a wonderful holiday without breaking the bank?
