The Balearic Islands are a Spanish archipelago located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The four largest islands are Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera. Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and is located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The island is about 48 miles long and 9 miles wide.
The island has a population of just over 87,000 people and is a popular tourist destination. The island has many sandy beaches, coves and bays. The coastline is also dotted with limestone cliffs. The island has a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Talayotic settlement of Torre d’en Galmés, the Taula de Torre d’en Galmés, the Torre de l’Homenatge a la Mare de Déu de la Victòria, the Cova des Moro and the Necropolis of Sa Caleta.
The island’s capital is Mahon and the main airport is Menorca Airport (MAH). The island is served by a number of airlines, including Iberia, British Airways, Ryanair and Vueling. The best time to visit Menorca is from April to June or from September to November, when the temperatures are milder and there is less chance of rain.
