The city of Bremen in Northwest Germany is a great place to visit if you want to get a flavour of one of Europe's biggest countries. As you would expect from Germans all the locals are extremely welcoming and friendly and Bremen itself is a vibrant and exciting city full of attractions and places of interest for people to go and visit.

Historical
Bremen has a rich history, signs of which can be found all over the city. The city's St Peter's cathedral dates from the 13th century. The cathedral can be seen from all over the city due to its distinctive two 99 metre high towers. It houses sculptures of several key figures from religion including Moses, Peter and Charlemagne. The town hall of Bremen located near the Martkplatz (Market Place) also has a rich history dating back to the early 15th century. The building has recently been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nowadays the building acts as the President's seat in the Senate of Bremen and houses a stylish restaurant known for serving a range of German wines.

Other Things to do and see
If the historical side of the city is not for you then there are other things to keep you entertained on your visit. One of these is the Rhododendron-Park, a botanical garden spread over 3.2 hectares and boasting some stunning gardens and sculptures set amongst woodlands and a lake. These include a science museum, the Universum Science Center, a tour round Beck's Brewery which also offers the chance to do some beer tasting and a modern art museum, Weserburg Museum für moderne Kunst.
