Discover Santorini (Greece)

Famed for its surreal natural beauty and breathtaking sunsets, the volcanic isle of Santorini is the most spectacular of all the Greek Islands, lying at the southern tip of the Cyclades archipelago. Multi-colored cliffs peppered with white cubist villages plunge dramatically into a vast sea-filled crater where the still-smoking tip of the volcano peeps its head ominously above the Aegean Sea. The picturesque capital, Fira, and the adjacent uptown villages of Imerovigli and Firostefani, cling spectacularly to the sheer caldera rim. Houses, streets, and terraces stack one on top of another in a mind-boggling labyrinth of geometric volumes, with small blue openings that frame spellbinding caldera views. Inland, the pretty hilltop town of Pyrgos surveys the island in all directions whilst further south, Megalochori sits amidst the oldest vineyards in Europe. As the sun sinks against the emblematic blue domes of Oia, crowds gather to catch a glimpse of the picture-perfect sunsets.
