Discover Bugibba (Malta)
The island of Malta lies in the Mediterranean Sea between Europe and North Africa, enjoying wonderfully warm weather and excellent transport and trade links with Europe. Bugibba lies on the northern coast of Malta, as though straining to make the leap over to Europe, and huddles together with two other, similarly sized villages – like friends daring each other to be the first to dip a toe into the sea!
Three Villages by the Sea
Qawra and St Paul's Bay share with Bugibba, a lengthy seaside promenade, and the length of it is bursting with hotels, eateries and attractions, all designed to please modern tourists. Malta has many historical sites, but few of them are close to this very modern pleasure centre: which is where car rental Bugibba comes in! Following this, hop into your car and head to Valetta, a city built in honour of a Knight, the Grand Master Jean de Parisot Valette, who led the Knights of Malta (then called the Order of St John of Jerusalem) against battle with the 40,000 strong Ottoman army, winning a brutal siege and battle with just 600 men surviving to bear arms.
Beautiful Valetta
The entire city is a monument to those fiercely brave soldiers and men, those who died as well as the few who survived, and has long been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The buildings are Baroque with a hint of late Renaissance Mannerism, but there is plenty to see and do, with a range of festivals and fun days throughout the year, wonderfully kept gardens, panoramic sea views and the
