Discover Bratislava (Slovakia)
The Danube River is based in the heart of Bratislava and is a magnificent natural attraction, that is also wonderful to walk across. The river leads from Germany into Slovakia and tales a long route through a large number of countries in central Europe. A selection of attractions are located by the Danube river, including the Bratislava castle.
The castle is a great place to go as an individual, or in a group, as there is a museum based in the castle that showcases the deep ancient history that lies behind the area. This museum also showcases ancient weapons that were used in battles. As well as this, the castle holds a selection of artworks, some of which are hundreds of year old and show famous figures through out the history of Europe. The village of Devin is situated just outside the city of Bratislava and is home to one of the countries oldest castles. The Village itself dates back to the 5th century BC and was used as a trading location for one of the most popular trading routes in Europe. The castle is now open to the public and serves as a museum, which holds artefacts that date back to the middle ages.
