Menorca is one of the Balearic islands belonging to Spain located in the Mediterranean Sea. Boasting a consistently warm climate, Menorca makes for a perfect Spring or Summer getaway.

Menorca is well know for its traditional and somewhat quirky summer festival: The Festes de Sant Joan. The festival is held between the 23rd and 25th of June in the city of Ciutadella de Menorca, with each day boasting a different event. On the first day a man parades around the city with a sheep on his shoulder, with bonfires being lit in the late evening. On the second day locally bred black horses are ridden through the streets, as people are encouraged to run underneath the horses and touch their hears as a sign of good luck. On the final day a horse jousting contest is held, with proceedings closing with a fireworks display.
