DRIVE CAR RENTAL Cheapest Car Rental at Ko Samui (Thailand)

The most common fuel policy for car rentals is "Full to Full", which means that the vehicle will be given to you with a full tank of fuel and you will have to return it with a full tank as well. To avoid any additional charges, make sure to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had when you received it.

During the pickup, you may be required to leave a fuel deposit or have it charged on your credit card, which will be refunded or released when you return the car with a full tank. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, missing fuel will be charged at a higher rate than the local service station and a refuelling fee may also apply. These charges will be payable at the rental desk unless otherwise stated in the rate details.

When renting a car, it is important to carefully review the mileage policy of each rental agency as they can differ significantly. Some companies may charge you for extra miles after a free mile limit has been reached while others offer unlimited miles that never expire. Before booking, make sure to check the exact number of miles allowed per day of travel to avoid any unexpected fees.

For most rental agreements, basic insurance is typically included free of charge. You may opt to add on a comprehensive damage cover package when booking your rental or collecting it. However, be aware that this will come at an additional cost and may not be worth the extra expense for peace of mind.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) / Extra is one of the most important options to consider when renting a car. It covers any damages incurred in an accident, such as if someone else's car backs into yours or if it skids off the road into something else. Theft Waiver (TW) insurance also helps protect you if your rental car is broken into, stolen or vandalized during your trip.

Third Party Liability Protection (TP) is also beneficial to have when renting an automobile as it covers damage to your vehicle and injury from accidents with other drivers on the road, as well as property damages caused while driving someone else’s car. I recommend getting third-party coverage because it can save you time and money should any incident occur while renting a vehicle.

When renting a vehicle from certain companies, they may require a deposit upon pick-up. This is not an extra charge; rather, it holds your credit card information on file in case of any damage or loss of equipment during the rental period.
