Bonnet House Museums and Gardens

This 35 acre estate is the premier place to learn more about the history of Fort Lauderdale. It's located between the beach and the Intercoastal Waterway and is a lovely place to find out more about the history, art and nature of the area. There are photographs inside the home, beautifully preserved gardens outside, as well as an orchid house and a gift shop.

Hooray for Hollywood

Looking for a little Hollywood in Fort Lauderdale? Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk is a place where you can browse art galleries and boutiques. There are also several sidewalk cafes where you can enjoy a meal and watch what's going on beyond the patio. There's also the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project, filled with art by both national and international artists in the area. You can explore on foot or on the trolley.

Flamingo Gardens

With 60 acres of botanical gardens, Flamingo Garden is a terrific place to see the flora and fauna of the Everglades area, including birds, alligators, bobcats, black bears, flamingos, and Florida panthers. There's a narrated tram tour and a wildlife encounter show. On-site is also the Wray Home Museum, which is one of the oldest residences in Broward County and offers up a glimpse of what life was like in Fort Lauderdale during the 1930s.
